What do you believe About God?

J.I.Packer said, "While my fellow believers are constantly seeking to advance in godliness, they show little direct interest in God himself". Talk about missing the target! So, Getting to know Him is much different than: getting to know about Him, or how to live the Christian life.

I say, "Nothing in this World compares to a personal relationship with our Creator who truly cares!" Please pray, "Lord God, I want a personal life-long relationship with You, Please help me understand what that means, and help me search for, find, and develop that relationship." Repeat that if you really mean it.
We get to know God as he reveals himself to us through: The Bible, Our knowledge of - and relationship with Jesus, His Holy Spirit, His Creation - including nature & humans. We also get to know God through: Our relationships with others, Life experiences, Preachers & Teachers, Books, Hymns like Holy Holy Holy, Prayer, Praise, and giving Thanks, Observing nature and people, and through our realization that we will never know Him completely.
This Page & Blog is a WORK in Progress! In much the same way Our Relationships with GOD is a WORK in Progress!
Following are a few things that I believe about God. He is Awesome, Almighty, All-Powerful, Omniscient, Omnipresent, The Alpha and Omega, The One and Only Holy Soveriegn God! Well, that's a good start.
God desires to have a healthy growing relationship with each one of us. The relationship he desires with each of us goes far beyond human understanding. It is compared through-out the New Testament & probably the Old Testament in terms of several of the relationships we have as humans and in many other terms in an effort to help us understand. Such as His Church is the bride and He is the Bridegroom; we are his adopted children, He is our Father in heaven, each of us is like a member of a body and He is the Head, we are the branches and he is the One True Vine. Abiding and trusting in Him, while recognizing our dependance on Him are keys in our relationship with the Creator.
Sin, and therefore sinful people cannot exist in His presence! Christ has overcome the problem of sin for those who believe the Christ Jesus was and is the only begotten Son of God. The four stories found in Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John of Christ's birth, life, death, and resurrection are true. Believing these Amazing truths can affect life here on earth in unbelievable and amazing ways.
Christ Jesus is the King of kings and Lord of lords! It is His Blood that has set us Free from the power of sin. Only he has the power to set us free from the bondage of addictions of all kinds. He has compassion and an overwhelming abundance of love for those who believe in Him. He is the only King worthy of our devotion, love, and service.  He said to seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and He will meet all of oour true needs. He meant that if we each make Him King of our life, then He will meet or excede our needs. TRUST HIM, He keeps His promises!
There is some irony in the fact that so many United States and others have sacrificed their limbs and lives in the name of freedom, when One has given true freedom through His pure sacrifice to people through-out the ages and across the entire globe. Not only is the the Lamb of God, The one and only begotten Son of God, King of kings and Lord of lords, he took part in the Creation of our universe.
God is a Triune God! All three (3) persons have been and continue working in true unity through-out eternity. All three (3) took part in the Creation of our universe. All three (3) have unique personalities and responsablities. BUT, They work together in such unity that They are in fact Three in One. Having God's Holy Spirit abiding inside our souls gives us the freedom and right to say things like: Our Father who is in Heaven is in Me, and I am in him, that is if and only if we are striving to live a life devoted to, trusting in, and depending on Him. We can say that Jesus is in me and I am in Him if and only if we are striving to love God with everything we've got. Love Him with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength. This is what is best for us and our loved ones. This is what is best for everyone who knows us or does business with us.
How is that for a starter to help You get to know God? He simply is the best of everything! He simply is the best at everything! Please pray, "Lord God, I want a personal life-long relationship with You, Please help me understand what that means, and help me search for, find, and develop that relationship." Repeat that if you really mean it. Here'a another fact that you can trust. He hears and answers prayer!
